Where sparks of creativity fly
Where sparks of creativity fly
This summer (2026) I will be opening my personal pottery studio for group and private lessons. Also, more experienced potters will have the opportunity to join an open studio program and be a part of a supportive and creative community. More info is on the way as the construction of extra space/equipment ensues!
I began my love of pottery as a small child, when I submerged myself in "how to" arts & crafts books. Whenever clay or other art materials were accessible, my hands were in them! Although I am mostly self taught, I did take advantage of any available art classes while attaining my Associates in Liberal Arts and my BA in Psychology. I enjoy the challenge of creating pieces that are kinetic in some sense or appear to defy gravity. Some of my work is also influenced by Japanese culture, as a reflection of my martial arts training.
While living in the North Shore of Massachusetts I created and taught art in private schools, pottery studios, as well as my own art business. I decided to close my business in Peabody MA to devote more time to my children. Now that my children are older it is time to begin sharing/teaching a life long passion for art again.
Pottery (and other types of art) is always a healing modality in my life. Since art is such a wonderful way to process feelings, I plan on creating a trauma informed pottery class for adults this year. I will also offer other types of art classes in the future, yet the main focus of the studio will be working with clay.
